Hate carrying your groceries home? Or don’t want to be stuck carting your groceries around while you complete more errands or meet a friend? You’re not alone. Shoppers in London can now swing through the grocery store on their way home, pick out their produce and other items, checkout, and have their groceries delivered to their home that evening. Tesco is piloting this new service, called “Shop and Go” at a store in Bethnal Green. Delivery is free on all purchases of more than £35, and the delivery drop off point must be within 3 miles of the store. So far, the service is a big hit with customers, and Tesco says it is considering expanding the service to additional stores.
Bethnal Green Tesco trial new ‘shop and go’ method
Sick of lugging your groceries home after a hard day at work?
Well, if the innovative new ‘shop and go’ method of shopping catches on then you might never have to again.
The idea means shoppers can chose their products in store, pay for them at the checkout and then have Tesco deliver them to their door at an hour of their choosing between three and ten in the evening.
It is currently just a trial but Tesco said that initial feedback was positive so they may make it permanent and extend it to other stores
Customers must spend £35 or over to qualify for free delivery and Tesco will not deliver to addresses more than three miles away.
