In order to run supply chains efficiently, it is critical that accurate data is available for truck optimization, warehousing, custom pallet building, and other activities.

Product dimension and weight data is set up during R&D, and most manufacturers do not validate this data during production.  Changes to packaging, corrugate, fill rate, source or co-packer can have a significant impact on product dimensions and weight, creating a high potential for faulty manufacturer data.   

The automation used in ES3’s leading edge facility requires more accurate data than what is supplied by most manufacturers.  Therefore, ES3 electronically measures and weighs every item that is stored in its 400,000 pallet position ambient facility in York, PA.  This allows ES3 to provide more accurate and sustainable item data than can be achieved by randomly measuring product.

ES3 is leveraging its unique data capture and validation skills to provide the most accurate and up-to-date item dimensions and weights available, without product ever exiting the supply chain.  ES3 is accredited by GS1 as a Provider of Data Quality Measurement Services.  This means that ES3’s equipment is calibrated and its team is trained to provide data that is accepted by retailers and GDSNs.  Additionally, ES3 undergoes periodic reviews and internal audits to ensure strich adherence to program requirements and GDSN standards.  

In addition to item dimension and weight data at the pallet, case and selling unit level, DimenSync^SM also offers item images and attributes to provide a comprehensive product overview.  Product information is available for nutritional, transportation, warehousing, selling unit, and food service attributes.  Case and selling unit images are also available.
